Tatsuya Udon in Nara

While out walking and enjoying the recent below zero Celsius temps we have been having, I suddenly felt the urge to have a nice bowl of warm udon.  As I was already in the Naramachi area, there were plenty of good places to choose from, however, I decided to walk the extra distance to Takabatakechō  to visit my favorite udon restaurant, Tatsuya Udon. Tatsuya only serves "Sanuki Udon" and the noodles are made fresh right at the restaurant by the owner/chef.  One can choose either hot or cold style noodles together with a variety of toppings such as Yamato pork, shrimp tempura, vegetable tempura and others.  Not only is the taste very good but the prices are decent as well.  The place is definitely a bit of a walk from the downtown "Naramachi" area..but still well worth a visit!
