Winter in Nara Park

Snow is somewhat of a rarity here in Nara.  Since the temperatures normally don’t dip below freezing, the winters for the most part are very mild and enjoyable.  Having grown up in an area that snows all too often and rarely stays above freezing, I have obviously came to appreciate the winters here. That being said, there are times I do miss the snow, but only for the beauty of it (I hate shoveling). This past weekend was one of those rare moments when the snow came , all 3mm of it.  Since I knew it wouldn’t last long I woke up early hopped on my bike and rode across town to Nara Park to check things out.
