Mishima Matsuri / 三島祭り

Every year during the summer holiday I usually go to Shizuoka prefecture, and this year was no exception.  Besides going on long rides, sitting in an onsen, or drinking sake, one of my favorite things to do is to visit the Mishima Matsuri (summer festival) which is held at Mishima Taisha. Although the festival starts at the temple, the entire main street gets closed off and the downtown area becomes one big party. I definitely recommend a visit if you have the chance. The atmosphere and energy is amazing. Lots of fun!
