Machiya Monogatari in Yamatokoriyama
Just east of Yamato Koriyama station lies what used to be the former "pleasure district" of Yamatokōriyama. Some of the buildings in the area still exist, and the largest and most beautiful building the "Okawa Honkei Housing" is open to the public for viewing. It is now known as "Machiya Monogatari" and the building, a former brothel, is a registered cultural property that was purchased by the city a few years back. For this reason it has been kept up and well maintained. The place is free to enter, and free tours in Japanese are available as well.
